Joni Rubinstein

Joni Rubinstein
Co-Facilitator

Joni Rubinstein, M.Ed., has been a fan of Healthy Play since 1997 and a practitioner of Healthy Play since 2007. She has a M.Ed. in School Counseling from the University of Arizona. Joni Likes to start the school year using Healthy Play because it is a great team builder in the classroom and a way for students to learn about the character of each student. She tells her students “How you play is how you are” and encourages them to consider how they play reflects their own character.

Joni loves that HP is “no-tech” and builds social skills that she sees lacking more each year. She believes that play supports connection in a way that is meaningful and fun and provides ways for children to learn empathy, self-regulation, and positive decision making. How Healthy Play naturally cultivates intrinsic rewards for students is why she prefers Healthy Play over token economy programs. No one is left out.

Joni is also the author of, The Night Before My Birthday Book.
